Located in Rochester, Massachusetts on 47 acres of farmland and forest, Lucky Field Organics grows a wide selection of fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers using both tried and true ideas from the past as well as the latest research of natural systems, plant vigor, and organic production techniques.
Lucky Field Organics was started in 2003 with one acre of land, a garden cart and a rototiller. There was a great deal of interest in fresh organic vegetables on the South Coast of Massachusetts and we grew vegetables for local restaurants and the Rochester Farmers Market. In the spring of 2005 we began with a six person CSA share program, and the restaurant sales and Farmer's Market continued successfully. Since then, Lucky Field Organics has grown from that 1-acre plot of land into 12 acres of cultivated fields. We now serve over 300 CSA shares a year, operate our farm stand and attend five Farmers Markets as well as sales to restaurants and Whole Foods Market.
We also partner with Old Bedford Village Development and the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts to offer a "not for profit" CSA program in New Bedford that delivers CSA shares to a diverse group of people who have need of, but not access to CSA shares. This program is in its third year now and has tripled in size and we look forward to continue growing it into the future.
We have something for everyone.
Be well,
Eileen and Weston Lant and the Lucky Field Organics crew
